Do you want a holistic, personalised recovery programme for osteoporosis or fractures?

If you have a diagnosis of osteoporosis, osteopenia or low bone density — or are recovering from a fragility fracture, complex trauma fracture or poor bone union — and you are looking for a holistic, trauma informed, medically supervised bone health rehabilitation or osteoporosis exercise programme personalised to your exact health state — then you are in the right place.

I am an expert in bone health, a Consultant Chartered Physiotherapist advanced practice in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation. Additionally a qualified psychotherapist, behavioural psychologist and coach. My work is evidence-informed, whole person and deeply individualised.

I’m Founder of Better Bones for Life™: we train individuals and groups in holistic practices to achieve Healthy Bones at Every Life Stage.

My bone health expert work, includes osteoporosis prevention, osteoporosis and osteopenia management and recovery, fracture rehabilitation, future health planning and building healthy better bones for every life stage.

I have a practice in Reading, Berkshire at 218 Tilehurst Road, RG30 2NE a clinic in London, Shoreditch and in addition I provide house calls.

For ultimate convenience I also consult online across the UK, and support UK nationals when they are travelling overseas.

Over more than four decades of clinical practice I have helped thousands of people — from all kinds of backgrounds and start points — recover, strengthen and flourish.

Some of the most complex cases have come via solicitors and insurers, where patients faced the very real risk of limb loss after impact injury to bones. Many healed fully.

That breadth and depth of integrated mind and body qualifications and clinical experience with specialist complex problems is what I bring to your programme.

My approach is calm, kind and unhurried — and it addresses you as a whole person, never as your diagnosis. Together we decide where to begin. You choose. We might start with your health challenge, having falls, a fracture, diagnosis of bone loss, serious pain problem. Perhaps you are wanting to reduce risk of problems in the future, have a family history of poor bone health, have a kyphosis or scoliosis and want to address factors that may impact your potential.

You could be entering perimenopause or be near menopause and just learned about hormone change and bone loss. Maybe you have Osteoporosis due to Breast Cancer treatment, or another medical problem.

Whatever the cause, every plan is personalised — to you, your body, your history and your goals, and starts with a thorough one to one consultation. Most plans include several of these: bone health education, body awareness and movement training, balance, agility and coordination, bone stacking, bone loading, progressive resistance exercise, functional strength, posture, nutrition, sleep, mindset and sustainable lifestyle change.

Can a holistic rehabilitation programme really improve bone health?

Yes — and the evidence is clear. An integrated bone health programme combining targeted bone loading exercise, progressive resistance training, nutritional support for bone mineralisation, sleep optimisation and mindset work can measurably improve bone density, reduce fracture risk and accelerate recovery.

The Better Bones for Life™ programmes combine education (why, and what) with practical ‘how to’ strategies to enable you to make change to all of your systems.

One element are talks, and the Better Bones for Life™ approach is the basis of Better Bones: The Anatomy of Movement — an ongoing educational series that Jill originally presented on Rest Less, one of the UK’s leading platforms for active, health-conscious adults and has now presented through her website. Thirteen hours of content already published, a further series in development, and thousands of people already engaging with the work. The reach of the work is broad. The individual Osteopro Better Bones for Life™ programmes are deeper and more evolved, something else entirely.

What does a personalised bone health programme include?

Every programme is different because every person is different and what you want to get from a Better Bones for Life™ program is specific to you and your lifestyle.

Your plan may include balance, coordination and agility work to reduce fall risk, body movement awareness to improve bone stacking, better self-use, bone alignment and form during day to day activities and progressive resistance exercise. Often we review and provide nutritional guidance to support bone mineralisation, inflammation reduction, sleep and stress strategies, better gut management and mindset coaching for long-term sustainable change.

The starting point, whether we meet face to face in Reading, Berkshire, London or via webcam, the pace and the focus priorities are always specific to the outcome you want to achieve.

Ready to take the first step?

Call directly, send me a message (include your phone number in the comments if you do) or book in via the diary for a 20-minute consultation — and let’s talk about what is possible for you.

Please do have hope. There is so much that can be done, and the right support makes an enormous difference.

Better Bones for Life™ — Support Built From the Highest Level of Expertise

Most people who arrive here on my webpage, have already invested time looking for solutions. They have read the ROS guidance, searched the internet, listened to podcasts, spoken to their doctor, perhaps tried a suggested group class, an online programme, had sessions with a personal trainer.

And they have reached the same quiet conclusion — that what is generally available does not go far enough, is not specific enough, it’s missing parts and does not take into account their real life, the complexity of their situation, their priorities, preference for one to one support and confidentiality.

Some seek to meet face to face at my boutique clinic here in Reading, Berkshire, or at my practice in London. Others prefer a house call which can be arranged all over the UK or to meet via webcam, which can be very convenient.

Better Bones for Life™ was created to answer that knowledge gap — and the foundation it is built on is unlike anything else available in the UK.

At its heart sits a lifetime of serious confidential clinical work. Not wellness practice. Not personal trainer studio teaching. Real confidential clinical work — with fractures, non-union, complex bone pathology, osteoarthritis, and chronic pain. The kind of complex health challenges that insurers and legal teams bring to Jill when outcomes truly matter. This is bone health expertise forged in the most demanding clinical environments, across more than four decades of advanced practice.

Woven within and through that clinical foundation is an exceptional depth of movement knowledge. A background studying zoology before physiotherapy, the milestones of movement, movement analysis with respect to selective movement, postural control and the role of sensory information. Decades of practice in neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation and a full Feldenkrais Method teacher training — completed in 1999, with advanced training beyond that. Body movement and mind awareness teaching experience spanning more than 35 years.

This rich tapestry provides the profound somatic and psychological intelligence that underpins everything. The Feldenkrais Method works with the relationship between movement, awareness and the nervous system in a way that transforms not just how the body moves, but how the whole system heals.

Jill specialist work is under the banner of Fractal Feldenkrais ™ an evolved practice where Feldenkrais meets health challenges.

In 2001 Jill completed training in Movement Intelligence as a teacher of Bones for Life® — a somatic movement method developed by Ruthy Alon directly from her own Feldenkrais practice.

In 2005, Ruthy Alon certified Jill personally as a Trainer in the method — the highest level of certification within the Bones for Life® framework, carrying the authority to not only run BFL programmes, but to also train and supervise others as teachers. That certification, from the creator herself, to a Physiotherapist, someone already deeply rooted in movement milestones, and the Feldenkrais foundations the bones for life method grew from, carries a particular significance.

Osteopro Better Bones for Life™ is a programme that brings all of this together — the advanced clinical practice, the forensic bone health expertise, the movement and Feldenkrais mastery, the Bones for Life® training authority — and extends it further with a comprehensive, evidence-informed framework covering bone loading, progressive resistance exercise, nutrition for bone mineralisation, balance, posture, sleep, stress and mindset.

The result is a programme that does not exist anywhere else. Because the person who created it does not exist anywhere else.

Evidence-Based. Whole Person. Clinically Grounded.

You are probably someone who researches carefully before committing to anything. As this site grows, there will be increasing numbers of articles for you in the Healthspan Hub.

You already know that in matters of health — particularly bone health — the difference between well-intentioned general advice and genuinely expert clinical guidance is not a small thing. It is the difference between safe, meaningful progress and avoidable risk.

The evidence is clear: improving bone density, reducing fracture risk and supporting long-term skeletal strength requires a programme that works across many connected areas simultaneously.

Also the earlier you start with a healthy bones lifestyle (preferably during childhood), the better your bone health will be when you need it.

When we take action focussed to make multiple incremental gains, multiple tiny enhancements, in different domains we are creating a significant, sustainable long-term success.

Domains may include: Targeted bone loading and progressive resistance exercise, aerobic exercise, strength training, and active lifestyle enhancement. Early education on nutritional support for bone mineralisation, balance, agility, coordination and postural work, and training in techniques to improve recovery, sleep and gut health. Optimization of your mental health and mindset. Better body use, through awareness, improved bone stacking. Brain gut axis regulation for digestive problems. Addressed together, under serious clinical oversight, small changes in multiple areas produce outcomes no single intervention can replicate.

We can meet together in Reading at my practice, 218 Tilehurst Road, RG30 2NE or in London in Shoreditch where I also practice. Or maybe you would prefer a house call, or for optimum convenience online via webcam all across the UK.

What sets Osteopro Better Bones for Life™ apart is not just what it includes — it is the clinical and evidence informed depth behind every decision. Every exercise, every progression, every recommendation is informed not only by decades of hands-on work with real fractures, real bone pathology, real complexity, real people, real elite athletes, performers and fiercely determined independent thinking people, and the science and evidence underpinning. This is not a programme designed in a theory vacuum. It is a evidence supported programme refined in practice, with the most challenging cases, over the longest time.

This is also why the programme includes the educational talks of Better Bones: The Anatomy of Movement — an ongoing series that Jill presented on Rest Less, one of the UK’s leading platforms for active, health-conscious adults and completed on the website. Thirteen hours of content already published, a further series in development, and thousands of people already engaging with the work. The reach of the work is broad. The individual programme is deeper and more evolved, something else entirely.

For those who want the full picture — complete clinical oversight, a programme that evolves intelligently as you progress, and the undivided attention of someone working at the very top of this specialism — individual programmes are available in person in Shoreditch, London and 218 Tilehurst Road, Reading, Berkshire, online across the UK and overseas for UK nationals who are travelling and can be brought to you at home, subject to conversations.

One Conversation. Clarity. Options. Choices. No Pressure.

If you have read this far, you are probably serious — not just curious. You are looking for the right support, not simply any support. And you will appreciate a first conversation that reflects exactly that.

I offer a free twenty minute conversation, a straightforward, unhurried conversation about where you are, what you have already tried, and what a personalised programme could realistically offer you. You will leave knowing the option I recommend, what is possible, costs and a clear sense of whether this feels like the right fit.

Complex, longstanding and second opinion cases are always particularly welcome. Over four decades of clinical practice, some of the most significant recoveries have come from people who were not sure a meaningful path forward existed — including cases where the complexity was such that limb loss had been a genuine consideration. Many healed fully. The clinical experience to hold that level of complexity, and to find a way through it, is very much part of what is available here.

If you are ready — or simply want to understand what might be possible for you — please do get in touch.

Available in person and online across the UK. Book a free 20-minute consultation or call directly. Your situation deserves proper attention — and that is exactly what you will receive.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I went to see Jill after a particularly bad episode of insomnia something I have struggled with for over a decade. She taught me skills and techniques to manage my insomnia and I haven’t had a really bad episode in nearly 3 months. Carl Q

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐A very professional and pleasant therapist to be seen by. Her person-centred approach made feel comfortable. Devoted, passionate and very competent in her field. Yannis C

“Jill’s approach was about me as a whole person, not just my leg. Just as importantly, my physical rehabilitation was all underpinned by constant mental support, attention to my anxiety and robust positivity. I dread to think where I would be now without Jill’s help I would recommend Jill. If you want to come back fighting from the most serious of situations, then you couldn’t have a better person leading the charge. Thank you Jill for all your time, commitment and support.” K

“I’m super grateful for the support Jill gave me during a really tough time. With her management I’ve got to such a great strong thriving place in my health now. Her advice still echoes in my mind when I find myself losing momentum and slipping back. Looking back, I cant imagine how I would have charted to where I am now without her. ” Ann W

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an accident at work where were my left knee ligaments were badly damaged. After A & E at RBH, I was assigned to walk on clutches. Sometimes in December 2022 as I walked home a lady approached me and told me I should not be bending while walking with the help of clutches rather I should be walking in an almost upright position like I would walk without the clutches. She adjusted my clutches and my use of the clutches became more comfortable to use. This height adjustment made a lot of difference. But it did not stop there. She told she me she is a physiotherapist with a private practice. She gave me advice on what to do to start on my physio early enough as it might take time to be booked at the hospital for physio which is understandable.
I went on YouTube as per her advice. About two weeks after my physio at home I could feel a lot of difference due to the YouTube videos that I watched and followed. I am happy to have met this lady who gave me free advise and if you saw us engage, you would’ve thought we knew each other before. Such a friendly person to meet and talk to.

“Meeting Jill was the best thing that could have happened to me. She brought positive confidence, passion, rehabilitation and recovery into my life at a time where everything seemed so dark. Her kind-strong-dynamic-organized approach allowed me to relax, mend and feel completely comfortable knowing someone experienced had everything planned, I have made so much progress. ” Jo B
